The Corral de Villacampa is a rural house that stands in the perfect location to enjoy all the charms of the province of Huesca. Within a radius of 60 kilometers from our rural house in Aínsa you will find the most important tourist places in Alto Aragón. The Sierra de Guara, Aínsa, Alquézar, the National Park of Ordesa and Monte Perdido, with Añisclo as the closest point, and the Pyrenees surround us. What to see in the Sobrarbe region?

  • Aínsa (25 km away):A little more than 20 km from our rural house is Aínsa. They emphasize the parochial Church of Santa Maria and the Castle of Aínsa, that dates from century XI and XVII. Both buildings are part of a spectacular historic center declared a Historic-Artistic Site.
  • Olsón Church (5 km):Well of Cultural Interest. It is a large building made of masonry with abundant stonemasonry marks, which has been erected, in a style that amalgamates the Gothic with Renaissance classicism, in two phases: it began from inside the building to the foot area to finish, about fifty years later, in a second phase, with the cover, the porch and the tower.
  • Paleontological Museum of Sobrarbe (10 km): In Lamata, it has a useful area of ​​around 140 m2.
  • Samitier Castle (15 km away):Just 14 kilometers from Mondot is Samitier, a small town from which a path that will take us in less than an hour on foot to the summit starts. There, about 800 meters above sea level, we will find the restored hermitage of San Emeterio and San Celedonio and the tower belonging to what was once a castle. The enclave is already magical in itself: it is situated on the tip of a promontory from which a spectacular 360º panoramic view is observed.
  • Natural Park of Ordesa and Monte Perdido (55 km away):Four valleys and a central mountain massif, make up the National Park of Ordesa and Monte Perdido. Three of them, the most oriental, can be reached from El Corral de Villacampa with enough comfort. The Anisclo Valley is 55 km away; the Escuaín Valley, 67 km; and the Pineta Valley, 70 km. Visiting one of these places is mandatory.

What to see in the Somontano region?

  • Barbastro (45 km away):The villa belongs to the region called Somontano de Barbastro, land of wines with famous designation of origin throughout the world. It is a natural door to most of the Sierra de Guara. In its urban complex is the Cathedral (16th century), declared a Historic-Artistic monument. The Diocesan Museum, the Episcopal Palace, the House of the Argensola, the Town Hall, the church and fountain of San Francisco or the whole of San Julián enclose artistic treasures.
  • Alquézar (40 km away): Among the deep ravines of the Sierra de Guara, patiently excavated by the waters of the Vero River, stands the collegiate square of Santa María la Mayor, and at its feet the labyrinthine medieval hamlet of the monumental town of Alquézar declared a Historic Artistic Site. Rock, water, history, art and legend merge into Alquézar, forming a surprising, unique, unexpected universe. 
  • Torreciudad (30 km away):It is located on the left bank of the Cinca River next to the El Grado swamp, in a place of great natural beauty. It was built very close to the old hermitage that is the origin of the devotion to the Virgin of Torreciudad since the eleventh century. In addition, it promotes the so-called Mariana Route, which links Zaragoza (Basilica del Pilar), Torreciudad, Montserrat and Lourdes.

What to see in the region of La Ribagorza?

  • Graus (45 km away):In Graus its main square stands out. It is one of the most beautiful arcaded squares in Aragon, since it contains architectural examples of various kinds. This place has been cataloged as Cultural Interest since 1975.
  • Roda de Isábena (72 km away):Roda de Isabena is a small town nestled in an incomparable setting, located very close to the Isábena river, in the former county of Ribagorza, one of the origins in the formation of the Kingdom of Aragon. On a high watchtower that dominates much of the course of the Isábena River, the town of Roda is the smallest town in Spain that has a cathedral-church.

  • South of France (70 km):Approaching to know the south of the neighboring country is a possibility. The border with France is 70 km away. Just after passing the Bielsa tunnel, the landscape takes on another color. Do not miss the possibility of visiting some of the border valleys. There is the possibility to enjoy without leaving the car, but also to ski in some of the stations in the area or visit some of the most beautiful mountains or villages in the south of France.

  • Bonita, limpia y cómoda casa en un lugar muy tranquilo. El propietario nos deja unos detalles (botella de vino y algunas chuches para los niños). Después de varios años, sigo repitiendo, pues siempre nos han tratado muy bien y nos ha facilitado la estancia, en lo que ha podido. Las dos casas son estupendas.

    casa con todos los servicios, impecable.
    Alberto estuvo siempre atento y manteniendo la intimidad.

  • Lovely location. Beautiful house. Alberto as a host is kind and offers a lot of information on the region. Definitely recommend going to the nearby river where you can find a secluded area for swimming and relaxing!
