Location
Mondot is located between the outer Pyrenean sierras of the Sierra de Olsón and the Sierra de Guara. The village has been uninhabited since the end of the 1970s, although the houses are still standing and some have been restored to be occupied during holiday periods. The house still has its stone facades and flagstone roofs, and is surrounded by fields and olive trees. There are magnificent views of the central Pyrenees.
This is the perfect spot for relaxing and enjoying nature in total peace and tranquillity.
Mondot is divided into two neighbourhoods separated by a 100 metre track. The neighbourhood of Plaza (‘the Square’), where El Corral de Villacampa is located, is made up of four houses. The Iglesia (‘Church’) neighbourhood is a little larger.
The village is currently governed by the town hall of Aínsa-Sobrarbe.
The nearest towns for shopping excursions are Aínsa (25 km), Ligüerre de Cinca (5 km) and Barbastro (40 km), as there are no shops in Mondot.
